Hi, I’m Chris. I’m an instructional designer and interdisciplinary researcher. After studying for my doctorate in history and culture, I spent seven years in academic publishing and over ten as an English teacher.

I’m committed to the idea that learning is essential not only for professional development, but for living in a democratic society and living meaningfully, for understanding ourselves, for navigating our ever-changing world, testing ideas, assessing consequences, and imagining and shaping the future we want.

This broad view of learning collapses the boundary between professional and personal development. The courses I design—interdisciplinary in nature with a deep focus on the humanities—are intended to bridge the gap and equip learners with relevant skills, powerful tools, and new perspectives.
